I had a pack of mushroom's lying in the fridge, So decided to prepare a side dish to accompany the dhal & rice.. This flavourful Varuval/fry vanished in minutes after clicking the pictures for the post :P Hubby dear loved it so much! Find the recipe below for this super easy Mushroom Pepper fry.

Serves - 3
Ingredients:
Button Mushrooms - 1 Pack
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp
Lime Juice - 1/2 lime
Salt - to taste
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Oil - to fry
For Masala: ( Dry Roast & Grind)
Dry Red Chilles - 3 nos
Pepper corns - 12 - 15 nos [adjust according to ones spice level]
saunf/ Sombu - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
pottukadalai - 1 tbsp
Method:
- Wash the mushrooms and pat it dry with the clean kitchen towel.
- Slice the musrooms and keep it ready.
- Now heat the pan, Add dry roast - Pepper corns, Jeera, Saunf, Red chilli & fried gram/Pottukadalai in medium flame, keep stirring for 3 -4 mins and once Pepper & jeera starts to splutter switch off the flame & transfer the contents into a plate and let it cool down.
- Grind the above roasted ingredients into fine powder.
- Take a bowl, add Ginger garlic paste, lime juice, ground masala powder, salt, Mix well and add the mushroom and mix throughly.
- Finally Add corn flour and mix.
- Heat pan, and sufficient oil to fry the mushrooms, Add few curry leaves and fry until crisp, drain & keep it aside for garnish.
- Now gently add in the mushrooms in batches & fry. Drain in kitchen tissue.
- Garnish it fried curry leaves & serve it hot!
This is an Lip-smacking combination for Sambar, Rasam or even plain dhal and hot rice!
