So moving on to the recipe!
Soya Chunks - 1 cup
Curry leaves - as required
Coriander Leaves - 1/2 tbsp finely chopped
Rice flour - 1 tbsp
Pottukadalai maavu/ Roasted Gram Flour - 2 tbsp
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
To cook soya chunks:
Water - as required to cook soya chunks
Milk - 2 tsp (adding it helps to eradicate the raw smell in soya)
To grind with soya:
Red Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
garam masala - 1 tsp
Saunf/Sombu Powder - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Method:
- Boil water with milk, and add soya chunks cook for 3-5mins.Switch off and then drain water and rinse it once n keep it aside.
- Make sure you squeeze out all the water from soya. In a grinder - add soya chunks along with the ingredients listed under 'to grind'.
- Grind for few seconds - kheem consistency.In a mixing bowl add soya mixture along with corn flour,rice flour, pottukadalai maavu, coriander,curry leaves and required salt. Mix well to form a smooth dough.
- Shape them into even balls. Meanwhile heat oil in a pan, drop the balls in batches. Cook evenly till golden brown. Drain it in a tissue n serve it hot!!!
