The Festival of lights is here, I just love the colorful crackers and the yummy diwali bakshanam my friends bring home!! :D So here's my diwali special for you a very health and yet very tasty multigrain ladoo.
Cook time: 10 Minutes
Makes 15 ladoos
INGREDIENTS:
Thinai /Foxtail millet– 3 tbsp
Kambu /Pearl millet– 3 tbsp
Ragi /Finger millet– 3 tbsp
Varagu / Kodo millet– 3 tbsp
Saamai /Little millet– 3 tbsp
Moong dal – 2 tbsp
Pottukadalai - 3 tbsp
Peanuts - 2 tbso
Aval /Flattened rice - 3 tbsp
Castor Sugar – 1/4 cup
Cardamom – 4
Melted Ghee – 1/4 cup (adjust)
Method:
- Heat a wide bottom kadai, add all the above mentioned ingredients except - sugar and ghee dry roast it in medium flame till you get a nice aroma. Make sure you don’t burn the millets while roasting. once done transfer it into a plate and allow it to cool down completely before grinding.
- In the mean time, melt some ghee and keep it ready.
- Now grind all millets into powder, and transfer it into a big bowl.
- Now add the castor sugar and mix well. make a dent and pour in the ghee and combine it well with a ladle.
- once the mixture is warm enough to handle go ahead and make gooseberry sized balls and store it in air tight container.
You can also add nuts to this ladoo to give a crunch..
